We’re thrilled to announce the addition of Elizabeth Akanbombire and Minal Patel Davis to Verité’s board. Their profound expertise and experience in collaborating with key stakeholders to pioneer innovative solutions for issues such as forced labor, child labor, human trafficking, gender-based violence, and good governance will play a vital role in steering Verité toward deeper impact.

Elizabeth Akanbombire

With over 30 years of experience working to promote labor rights with government entities, workers organizations, and other key stakeholders, Elizabeth Akanbombire recently retired from her role as the Assistant Chief Labour Officer for the government of Ghana’s Labour Department. Ms. Akanbombire has in-depth expertise in child labor, forced labor interventions and programs, as well as implementing and enforcing labor laws. With a key role in ten national-level committees, such as the National Steering Committee on Child Labour and the Technical Working Group for the Forced Labor Indicators Project (FLIP), Ms. Akanbombire has had a career at the forefront of advocating for policies that advance greater accountability from key stakeholders and enhanced safeguarding against child labor and forced labor.




Minal Patel Davis

Minal Patel Davis is a nationally recognized government leader with a proven track record of shaping policy issues, forging partnerships, and building group consensus to mitigate risks and achieve impact on human trafficking and other complex social and political issues.  Her work locally, nationally, and internationally as an innovator in the fight against human trafficking was recognized by the White House with the Presidential Award for Extraordinary Efforts to Combat Trafficking in Persons.  Ms. Patel Davis is currently Director of the Mayor’s office of Human Trafficking and Domestic Violence in Houston, Texas, and serves as the Human Rights Chair of the Houston 2026 World Cup Host Committee. She has spent over ten years expanding responses to human trafficking and gender violence by engaging diverse partners and promoting innovative solutions through government, mega sporting events, and beyond.
