Julie Brown

Lead, Training Center

Julie leads Verité’s Training Center as an expert in instructional design, developing comprehensive educational programs for multinational companies and institutions working to identify and prevent human rights risks in global supply chains.

Her work spans strategic due diligence training for executive leadership and technical skills development for auditors and suppliers operating in high-risk sectors.

Over 17 years at Verité, Julie has created the organization’s suite of online modern slavery courses and pioneered web-based resources including the foundational Help Wanted Toolkit and Responsible Sourcing Tool. These resources have become industry standards for addressing forced labor and trafficking risks across global supply chains.

Julie’s social responsibility training programs serve a diverse portfolio of clients including the International Labour Organization, Responsible Business Alliance, US Department of State, and US Department of Labor. Her sector expertise spans agriculture, construction, mining, and electronics, where she works directly with companies and their suppliers to build capacity for ethical sourcing practices and worker protection.

Through her leadership of Verité’s Training Center, Julie bridges the gap between theory and practice, translating complex human rights frameworks into actionable training.
