This position will be central to the organization’s global efforts to build awareness, understanding, and action on labor rights issues across the public, private, and civil society sectors.
The Director of Communications will be a passionate team builder, eager to work with Verité’s dedicated staff and external stakeholders to cultivate and advance the organization’s public profile and influence with target audiences, including companies, governments, civil society organizations, media, and consumers. They will lead Verité’s global communications strategy and be responsible for external communications and content marketing across multiple platforms and channels.

For a research project on human and labor rights risks in the coffee sector in the department of Huila, Colombia, Verité is seeking to hire a contractor with extensive worker interview experience within agricultural supply chains in Latin America, preferably in Colombia, the coffee sector, and/or conflict-affected areas. Verité will lead the development of the research methodology and core content of the interview instruments, while working jointly with the contractor to co-design and refine the instruments based on field realities and the research objectives. The contractor will be responsible for supporting the development and implementation of the instruments in the field and conducting worker interviews. The prioritization of areas within Huila to be covered will be defined jointly between Verité and the contractor. The research project intends to assess the level and nature of human and labor rights risks on coffee farms in Huila, mainly those related to forced labor and child labor, as well as other issues such as occupational safety and health, living wages, discrimination based on gender and ethnicity, among others.
