Deborah (Debbie) joined Verité in 2017 to help guide the organization through a period of rapid growth. As the Chief Operating Officer, she oversees the organizational systems that allow Verité to grow and maintain its impact while ensuring that internal policies reflect its values and mission.
She is passionate about balancing rigorous quantitative analysis, integrity, and flexibility to sustain an organization that contributes to meaningful change in the world.
Before joining Verité, Debbie’s decades of experience included positions in communications, fundraising, and policy at a range of social justice organizations: the Eighth Amendment Project (the national death penalty abolition campaign), the Political Economy Research Institute, and the Washington State Governor’s welfare policy office. She holds an MPA from the University of Washington and a BA from Harvard College.
