This year, Verité’s long-term network partner Association for Stimulating Know-how (ASK) is celebrating their 25th anniversary. Since 1993, ASK has been working towards a more just, equitable, peaceful, and secure world. ASK works with grassroots communities, NGOs, governments, international organizations, and private sector in India and beyond on capacity building, research and evaluation, fair labor and corporate social responsibility projects.

Verité has worked with ASK since the late 1990s. Together, ASK and Verité have provided auditing, training, consulting, and research services to a wide variety of companies from multiple sectors in India and in places where Indian workers migrate. ASK has also been a core partner with Verité on many multi-stakeholder research and advocacy projects on topics ranging from e-waste recycling to debt bondage to ethical labor recruitment.

Currently, we are collaborating on a project funded by the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau for Democracy, Human Rights and Labor safe and fair labor migration from India to the Gulf. This work draws heavily on ASK’s previous grassroots and community-based work on migration. The goal of this project is to establish a robust, comprehensive framework protecting Indian migrant workers at every stage of the migration process, from recruitment and deployment to employment and safe return.

Verité sends best wishes to ASK on the occasion of this milestone anniversary! We look forward to many more years of fruitful collaboration.
