Remediation: Solutions-based Approaches

Verité views the social audit as the first step in the process of improving conditions in a factory.  The real progress occurs when the issues we identify are addressed.

Every Factory Evaluation Report includes remediation recommendations for each violation identified in the factory audit. Verité's recommendations for improvements in the report form the basis for a management action plan and timelines (MAP).

For the most complex issues that require more in-depth analysis, Verité recommends specialized remediation audits to assess the scope of the concerns and the adequacy of management systems.  We often recommend training to management to prevent recurrences of chronic non-compliance. Below are some of the issues these our Remediation Programs address:

  • Child or juvenile labor
  • Benefits violations
  • Environmental hazards
  • Excessive work hours
  • Freedom of association issues
  • Harassment and abuse
  • Minimum wage violations
  • Non-payment of wages
